Super Bowl Festivities

So, unless you live under a rock or something,
you probably knew that the Super Bowl was in Indianapolis this year.
I never knew there were so many festivities leading up to Super Bowl Sunday.
It was like 10 days of craziness downtown.
We went down the Friday before the game to check it out.
The weather could not have been better.
Unseasonal highs.
Like in the 50's.
In February.
Unheard of.
Great weather for strolling around with a 10 month old!

They were all lit up and stuff.
Way cooler than this, but whatevs.

Super Bowl 46!

Wren is always more interested in looking at the people rather than the camera.

Georgia Street was converted into a pedestrian only street.

Zip line!
We did NOT wait in line to ride.
It was a huge hit for the city, though!

We did see Jordin Sparks and Maria Menounos!

We had a great afternoon downtown!
We grabbed lunch at the Coal Pizza Company.
Pizzas baked in 90 seconds in a 900 degree oven.
I had a proscuitto pizza with arugula, melon, and fig balsamic vinegar.
Chris got the tarte flambe pizza with smoked bacon, onion, and gruyère.
They were both so good.
Wren loved them both, too.
Yummmmmmmm.
I want one.  Now.
Anyway....
Kathleen and Dina met us downtown after lunch, and we walked around a bit more.
There were so many people downtown!
Concerts, celebrities, the zip line...
We didn't even get to check out everything, but what we saw was pretty cool!

Saturday night....
Chris and I were invited to the Young & Laramore Pre-Super Bowl party downtown.
It was the first time we have been out together since Wren was born!
It felt kinda weird... but it was fun!
Here we are before heading out....

It was nice to get dressed up and (gasp!) put on makeup!
It was wonderful to have a night out together.
But I just kept thinking to myself,
"Oh man, Wren is going to be up by 8:30am regardless of how late we stay out and regardless of how many drinks I have...."
Taking care of a little one while hungover and tired does not sound like a fun time to me.
At all.
So yeah, we were home by 11:30... after only a few drinks.
My, my, my how things have changed. :)

Lita Loves Wren

Well, Lita loves Wren when Wren is eating.

As soon as we put Wren in her high chair, Lita is at her side.

10 Months!

Well, Wren's officially been out longer than she was in...
10 MONTHS OLD!
We couldn't get a laying down shot of her at all.
Not happening.
It was hard enough to even get her to sit still for these sitting pictures...
I even gave her a (wrapped) chocolate sucker for entertainment.

Oh, my crazy 10 month old.
She's walking all over the place.
It's so funny to see this little person walking around my house!
Lita has become much more tolerant of Wren these days...
I think it's because Wren will play with her.
They play with a tennis ball together.
It's sweet.
She also gives kisses!
Big, open-mouth, sloppy kisses.
But they are the sweetest kisses I have ever received!
She loves "hugging" Jones.
I saw her give him a kiss the other day, too.
Boodles, however, is not much of a fan of Wren hugs and kisses.
She has just started babbling with consonant sounds this past month.
Mostly "bababababa."
No "mama" or "dada" yet.
She has favorite books now, too.
I swear I read "Five Little Monkeys" and
"Ten Wriggly Wiggly Caterpillars" about 50 times a day.
She never gets tired of them.
Ever.

She gets more fun and entertaining every single day!
