Play Date at the Park

We have had some absolutely beautiful fall weather here this year.  One day last week, we met up at Southeastway Park with some of the moms and babies from our breastfeeding support group.  We strollered around the park a bit and then hung out in the shade so the babies could play and the moms could chat.  We love these girls!  The girls are all around the same age... born between January and May.  Now that I think about it, I think each baby was born in a different month!  Sara- January, Lily- February, Macy- March, Wren- April, and Sydney- May!  Too funny!  Here are some pics of the girls hanging out... all of these pictures were so funny, I couldn't choose just one!

Macy, Lily, Sara, Wren, Sydney

This one cracks me up!
Lily getting Macy, Wren getting Sydney, and Sara just hamming it up for the camera!

Baby girls!

Love these babies!

I love how it looks like Sara, Wren, and Sydney have their arms linked!

Cutie pies!

Penelope was at the park with us too, but she and her momma left before we were able to get a group picture... hopefully next time we can get a pic with all of the babies again!

Purdue vs. Minnesota

Daddy's alma mater vs. Mommy's alma mater = a team neutral baby!

On Saturday we made the trip up to West Lafayette to watch the Gophers get pounded by Purdue.  Poor Minnesota.  They just aren't very good.  At all.  Oh well, it was a lovely fall day regardless.  Actually, it was a HOT fall day.  We only made it about a quarter sitting in the stands.  It was super sunny and hot.  And Wren did not want to keep her hat on... she preferred chewing on it instead.  We tried to shade her with our bodies, but that only lasted for a bit.  Plus she pooped EVERYWHERE.  So... needless to say, we did not watch the whole game from inside the stadium.  When we left it wasn't even halftime yet and Minnesota was losing 24-0.  Yikes.  We ended up finding a nice shady spot outside of the Union to throw down a blanket, change the baby, and eat lunch.  That worked out nicely.  Wren was able to play in the grass and I didn't have to face the embarrassment of wearing a Minnesota shirt in a sea of Purdue fans.
We ended up spending the rest of the day walking around campus.  It was a great day, despite the Minnesota loss! :)

Chewing on her hat rather than wearing it.

Looking like she wants to chew on the camera
now that the hat is back on her head.

Wren and Daddy

Wren and Neil Armstrong.
(Notice the complete outfit change....
uh yeah, she pooped so much that a total change of outfit was required.)

So tired... such a busy day!

We need to get Wren some Minnesota and Purdue gear... maybe dress her in half and half next time?  :)

6 Months!

Half a year old already!  Wow!  I can't believe Wren is 6 months old... jeez.  Our monthly photo shoot was not fabulous today.  It's so dang hard to get her to lay (and stay) on her back.... I may have to come up with a different idea for the next 6 months' worth of pictures.

"I have a question, how long do I have to do this for?"

You can kind of see her little baby teeth!

This is Wren's side pose.  She loves sitting like this.  A lot.

Why so sad, Chickaloo?

Haha, makes me laugh!

What a goof.

Rolling...

Daddy stopping her.
She thought it was pretty funny.

Success!

Ha.

Bright light!

Let's try this again...

Cutie Pie!

I think this is one of my favorite pictures.  Ever.

I really seriously can't believe that my baby girl is 6 months old today!  She doesn't even seem like a baby any more.  I know she technically still is a baby... but she's not the little itty bitty baby we brought home from the hospital way back in April.  She has teeth... and she's crawling... and laughing... and (mostly) sleeping all the way through the night... oh, and throwing temper tantrums.  Funny stuff. She's getting SO BIG!  Last night I packed away all of the clothes she has grown out of in the past 6 months.  I really got sad doing it, too.  Some of the outfits looked so tiny.  It's hard to believe she was ever that small... and now she's so big.  It really was difficult for me to pack away the 0-6 month clothes.  Oh well, hopefully we will get to use them again someday!  :)

We Finally Have Video!

Yay!  We finally did it!  Pretty much because we had to.  The video camera had no space left on it, so if we wanted to take any more video of Wren, we needed to put everything on the computer to free up some space.  Soooooo, after 6 months, here is the first posted video of the punkin... and she's pretty much crawling!!!!

Graham and Lee Came to Visit!

Graham is moving to Atlanta, Georgia!  I am so happy and excited for him... I'm hoping he enjoys his experience of moving away as much I as enjoyed mine.  It can be scary moving so far away from home... but it's exciting as well!  Moving to North Carolina and then California after graduating college was a great personal experience for me.  I enjoyed living on both coasts for awhile... and then eventually moving back to the Midwest.  Just feels more like home here!  Anyway.... Lee is helping Graham move, and the boys stopped on their way through and stayed the night.  I wished they could have stayed a bit longer, but it was nice to see them nonetheless.  Wren was smiley and happy during their visit... she even dressed in her Wisconsin outfit for the occasion!

Wren and her uncles!

Uncle Lee!

Showing off her Wisconsin getup to the Uncs

"Hey, what's that thing on your face?"

Haha, still staring at Lee...

....so Lee stared back.

So glad we got the see them!  Looking forward to seeing both of them again at Christmas... I think Wren is, too! :)

Baby Shower

***For those of you directed from Pinterest regarding the owl favors, I am posting a tutorial soon!  I have had quite a few requests... so hang tight and I will try to get it up ASAP!  :)

Here are some pics from the baby shower I threw for my friend Teresa this past weekend.  She and her husband decided not to find out whether they are having a boy or a girl.... and the nursery is decorated with woodland animals... so I took that idea and ran with it.  So much fun putting everything together.  All of the decorations are made with scrapbook paper!  Love it!  Super cheap, especially when paper is on sale at Michael's or Hobby Lobby.  I think when I bought everything, paper was priced at 6 for $1.  Can't beat that!  Anyway, it was a beautiful day and we had a great turnout.... here are the pics.

I wish I would have taken some closer pictures of the animals in frames

Wren wore her owl shirt to the party!

Oh, and notice how she's in the "flying" position... of course.

We have a picture like this from my baby shower...

Busy Week!

Wow.  I feel like we have been on the go all week long.  I worked a couple of long days, Grandma and Grandpa Knight came to visit Tuesday-Wednesday, we set up for Teresa's baby shower Friday, and had the baby shower today!  Here are a few pics from when the grandparents came to visit....

 Hanging out with Great Grandma

Outside the War Memorial downtown Indianapolis

You will not believe how many pictures I had to take in order to get
just one where that woman was not talking....

We had a nice day with Grandma and Grandpa here.  They came over to our house and played with Wren for a bit, then we went downtown to the War Memorial Museum and walked around for awhile.  We all went to dinner at Fireside that night.  Wren did really well with both Grandma and Grandpa!  She's kind of been in the "stranger danger" phase, but she let them hold her without too many tears. So that was Wednesday... here are some pictures from Friday.  Chris and I set up the garage for the baby shower while Wren played in the baby barricade we made for her on the floor.  She looked too darn cute not to take any pictures...

Peeking from inside the barricade walls

Grandma T bought her some new cold weather clothes this week.
Here she is showcasing her brand new vest.

 So stylish!

So sweet!

I will post baby shower pics tomorrow.  Been uploading all of September's pictures to facebook and such tonight.  Done with the computer for a bit.  I'm ready for a glass of wine or a bowl of ice cream.... or maybe both.

Happy October!  New blog design is called for!
